Women respond enthusiastically to PM Modi's invite to share stories

NEW DELHI: Women who have made a meaningful impact on society responded enthusiastically to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to share their life journeys. Some of them will be selected to manage Modi’s social media platforms on March 8, celebrated as International Women’s Day.
“I’ve been seeing truly inspiring life journeys shared on the NaMo App Open Forum. From these, a few women will be chosen for a social media takeover of my digital accounts on March 8, Women’s Day. I urge more women to share their stories,” the PM said in a post on X on Monday, encouraging greater participation from women across the country.
PM Modi had made the special announcement in the 119th episode of “Mann Ki Baat”, which stirred excitement among women. “This Women’s Day, I will hand over my social media accounts – X, Instagram, and others – to a few extraordinary women who have left an indelible mark on society,” Modi had declared.
One of the most-followed global leaders with tens of millions of followers across platforms like X (over 100 million), Instagram, and YouTube, the PM explained that selected women would take over his accounts for a day to share their life journeys – stories of resilience, innovation, and impact. “The platform may be mine, but it will be about their experiences, their challenges and their achievements,” he said, urging women to participate via the NaMo App’s Open Forum.
Even in 2020, Modi had similarly handed his accounts to seven trailblazing women, including a social worker and a mountaineer, amplifying their voices to millions. This time, however, the call was much broader, inviting submissions from across India. By Monday, the PM acknowledged that he had already seen “very inspiring life journeys” on the NaMo application, hinting at the tough selection ahead.
