When Rani Mukerji told Aishwarya Rai, 'We will be friends forever', but they had a fall-out due to Shah Rukh Khan's 'Chalte Chalte' - WATCH VIDEO

Not many people are aware that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rani Mukerji were BFFs (Best Friends Forever). The girls had bonded so well and once when Aisharwya was on the show, ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’, Rani had sent a video message for her. She had said, “You know I love you. I’m so sorry I couldn’t come for the show because you know I’m unwell. As you know, I’m always unwell and couldn’t make it to Delhi. But just to let you know that I love you and you mean a lot to me. I just love you Aish. I don’t think I need to say it. But because of everyone I have to say it on TV again. I just want to say one thing that we are going to be friends forever.”
A few years later, Karan Johar had asked Rani when she appeared on ‘Koffee With Karan’ with Kareena Kapoor. Johar asked Rani, “You’ll had an equation and clearly today that doesn’t exist.” Responding to it, Rani said, “Ya, and you know the reasons for it.” Karan said, “I don’t know anything. Chalte Chalte mujhe bataa do kya hua tha.”
This sly comment from Karan mentioning ‘Chalte Chalte’, left Rani and Kareena bursting out into a laughter. For those not in the know, Aishwarya was supposed to be a part of Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Chalte Chalte’. She had also shot for a large portion of the film. It was reported that her then boyfriend Salman Khan had created a scene on the set, thus, Aishwarya was removed from the film by the producers.
Later, Rani signed the film. This video went viral on the internet and it said that Aishwarya was quite hurt that she was replaced in the film by none other than her BFF Rani. That perhaps created a rift between the two actresses. Later, Shah Rukh had also apologised to Aishwarya in an interview where he said he regretted what happened to her but it was not in his hand as he was not the only producer on the film.
