India’s Champions Trophy campaign will commence with a high-stakes encounter against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. The team will then face arch-rivals Pakistan on February 23, followed by a crucial match against New Zealand on March 2. Due to the hybrid hosting model, all of India’s matches will be played in Dubai instead of Pakistan.
Injury concerns and squad changes
The Indian squad will be without its pace spearhead, Jasprit Bumrah, who has been ruled out due to a lower back injury. As a result, young pacer Harshit Rana has earned a spot in the squad as his replacement. Additionally, spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been drafted into the team following his impressive performances against England in the recent series.
Bumrah has been absent from on-field action since January, with his last appearance coming during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test against Australia in Sydney. Meanwhile, young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was initially named in the main squad, has been moved to the non-traveling reserves following his ODI debut against England.

  • Non-Travelling Reserves: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, and Shivam Dube. The three players will travel to Dubai if required.

With a formidable squad and strong preparations, Team India aims to reclaim the Champions Trophy title and add another feather to its illustrious cricketing history.
