Swedish e-boat maker X Shore looks to tap Indian market

NEW DELHI: Swedish electric boat manufacturer X Shore is looking at India as a potential market, its founder and president Konrad Bergstrom has said.
While electric boats are often considered niche products, Bergstrom pointed to increasing global demand. “We see demand from all over the world, riding the wave of sustainability,” he said, adding that the US and Europe were top markets.
At present, X Shore is focused on scaling up production, but Bergstrom made it clear that his mission goes beyond business expansion. “The important thing is to work for the future,” he reiterated. “It’s not just about making money, it’s about building a better world.”
He maintained that success in business is not just about influence or financial gain, it is about building a sustainable future. Bergstrom stressed on the need for purpose-driven innovation. “The important thing is to work for the future,” he said. “Everything is not about money. We need to create a more sustainable future.”
Bergstrom’s early success included co-developing Marshall audio products.
