Sridevi had secretly married Mithun Chakraborty and tied rakhi to Boney Kapoor, as per reports: 'They were madly in love'

Sridevi married Boney Kapoor as the duo fell in love. It was said that for the longest time, Kapoor kept chasing Sridevi so she could marry him. At that point in time, he was already married to Mona and had two children – Arjun and Anshula. But did you know that earlier, rumours had suggested that Sridevi was secretly married to Mithun Chakraborty?
Mithun and Sridevi had worked together in movies like ‘Waqt Ki Awaz’, ‘Watan Ke Rakhwale’, ‘Guru’ and others. While Mithun was married to Yogeeta Bali, he and Sridevi fell in love. Reports suggested that they had also secretly got married. Meanwhile, Sridevi had tied a rakhi to Boney as Mithun doubted that they were in love.
However, Mithun was sure of not leaving his wife Yogeeta. Thus, Sridevi and Mithun eventually broke up. Sridevi’s co-star Sujata Mehta had once opening up on this during a chat with Hindu Rush. Talking about Sridevi, she had said, “She used to be so disturbed but itni professional ke jaise camera on hota tha aur vo kisi ki nahin. She was only for camera par uske baad jaake kone mein vo bhi baith jaati thi zyada maine usko cheda nahin. They were madly in love. I suppose so they got married also na, shaadi bhi hui thi na uski, han aise bolte shaadi bhi hui thi pata nai.”
Later, Sridevi married Boney in the year 1996 and became parents to two daughters – Janhvi and Khushi. Meanwhile, Mithun was asked if he ever had any affairs while being married to Yogeeta. Reacting to it, he said, “Sab hi aurat ki taraf nazar uthaake dekhta hoon lekin acchi neeyat se. I’m the most… married bachelor.”
