The committee will assess several economic parameters, including the repo rate, liquidity conditions, CPI inflation and GDP growth outlook for India’s economy.The timing of RBI’s monetary policy assumes significance since it comes at a time when India and the US have failed to reach a trade deal. Instead, US President Donald Trump has announced a 25% tariff on India, with warnings of higher duties due to India’s oil trade with Russia.Experts expect the central bank to maintain a status quo on repo rate. The RBI-led MPC has already reduced the repo rate by 100 basis points or 1% since the start of this year.
