Nora Fatehi is set to entertain audiences with her upcoming film ‘Be Happy’, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan. In a recent interview with BBC Asian Network, she revealed that some actors hire PR agencies to run campaigns comparing themselves to her after appearing in dance numbers.
She further shared that people in the industry think she is arrogant, but she is just straightforward. She also spoke about how she is judged for wanting lead roles in films instead of only doing dance numbers. Adding further, “My logic is that everyone should be allowed to do songs, and everyone should act. But it should be fair for everybody. When I see these songs, you know what I like about them? That girls are coming out, being confident, being sexy, and trying to perform. What I don’t like is when everybody starts using my name as a marketing tool.”
The dancer-actress revealed that some actors pay PR agencies to use her name to market their songs. She said, “When a new song is released, they compare it to me, saying, ‘Nora’s career is over’ or ‘She can eat 100 Noras for breakfast.’ I know who is behind this and how much they pay.”
She also shared that PR agencies often approach her to do the same, but she refuses. “I won’t compare myself to anyone or bring someone else down. A song should work because of talent, not because people want to replace someone that’s just ridiculous.”
While recovering from an ankle injury, Nora Fatehi noticed how PR agencies used her name to promote new songs. She said some were classy, but others were “diabolical and highly degenerate.”
A clip of her interview was shared on Reddit, sparking speculation about who she was talking about.
She will share the screen with Abhishek Bachchan in Remo D’Souza’s dance drama ‘Be Happy’. The film follows a single father who learns to dance to help his daughter achieve her dream of performing in a competition. Also starring Innayat Verma, the movie is set to release on March 14 on Amazon Prime Video.
