Kevyn Major Howard, the actor best known for his role as Rafterman in Stanley Kubrick’s 1987 war film Full Metal Jacket, has passed away at the age of 69.
According to TMZ, Howard died on Friday, February 14, at a hospital in Las Vegas, surrounded by his loved ones. Reports indicate that he had been hospitalized for several weeks due to respiratory issues. However, his official cause of death has yet to be determined, as per Deadline.
Howard gained recognition for his portrayal of Rafterman, a war photographer in Full Metal Jacket, a film that remains one of the most critically acclaimed war movies of all time. Beyond his iconic role, Howard also appeared in popular television series and films throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Sudden Impact, Alien Nation, and Miami Vice.
