Ikea debuts in Delhi: 15,000-sq-feet store inaugurated at West Delhi's Pacific Mall; plans for bigger Gurgaon, Noida outlets in development

Ikea India has launched its first Delhi outlet at Pacific Mall, Tagore Garden in West Delhi. The 15,000-square-foot establishment aims to provide Delhi residents and neighbouring areas with convenient access to the furniture brand’s products, design concepts and customised services.The Swedish retailer Ikea is recognised for its cost-effective, self-assembly furniture, household items and associated services.The Delhi outlet aligns with Ikea’s Indian market approach, incorporating expansive stores, urban locations, digital commerce and “Plan and Order Points” for kitchen and wardrobe design consultations, according to ANI report. The Delhi store showcases more than 2,000 items, with approximately 800 available for immediate purchase, offering a tangible Ikea shopping experience. Customers can arrange delivery for larger furniture and household items through online ordering.Patrik Antoni, CEO of IKEA India, described the opening as a “big milestone” in the capital. “We are humbled by the positive response and love IKEA has received from our North Indian customers since we began online deliveries here in March,” he said in a press release. “To finally open our first store in the heart of the vibrant capital is a big milestone for us, and we are very happy to offer the opportunity for the many people in Delhi to touch and feel the IKEA products.”The establishment features room displays reflecting Delhi residences, digital spatial planning tools and in-house furnishing consultants along with Swedish Cafe serving signature IKEA refreshments.According to Pooja Grover, country expansion manager at IKEA India, the Pacific Mall location was selected to establish presence in popular shopping destinations. “We are constantly learning from evolving retail trends in India to introduce formats that are new and relevant for our customers,” she said.The West Delhi outlet comes after IKEA’s existing locations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai and South Mumbai city stores. It supports the company’s accessibility strategy of “One Click, 30 Minutes Away”, combining digital convenience with physical presence.IKEA is currently working on development of two additional large-format outlets in Gurgaon and Noida, advancing its strategic expansion across India.
