Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar crashes with Rs 13 lakh in second weekend

Himesh Reshammiya’s action-packed Badass Ravikumar started off strong at the box office but has seen a disastrous fall in its second week. The film, which opened ahead of Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyappa, has now been completely sidelined.

In its second week, Badass Ravikumar could only muster a mere Rs 13 lakh, with collections of Rs 2 lakh on Friday, Rs 5 lakh on Saturday, and Rs 6 lakh on Sunday as per Sacnilk. This is a massive drop from its first-week earnings of Rs 8.20 crore. Meanwhile, Loveyapa, despite a slow start, showed better resilience and managed Rs 44 lakh in its second week, surpassing Badass Ravikumar in the long run.

Both films struggled to find mass appeal, which significantly impacted their performance. However, their fate was further sealed by the release of Vicky Kaushal, Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna’s Chaava, which dominated the box office. Chaava stormed into cinemas with a massive Rs 116.5 crore in its opening weekend alone, making it the clear choice for moviegoers and leaving smaller films gasping for breath. Chhaava not only impacted the older releases but all crushed Hollywood film Captain America- Brave New World which had names like Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford and Sebastain Stan leading it. And with no major release in the next 3 weeks, Chhaave is set to continue its dominance.
While Badass Ravikumar initially led the race against Loveyapa, its steep decline proves that hype alone isn’t enough to sustain a film. The industry has seen time and again that content and audience connection play a crucial role in a movie’s longevity. As Chaava continues its successful run, both Badass Ravikumar and Loveyapa are now staring at an early exit from theaters.
