Golf Prestige Masters Series marks 10 years, drawing global amateurs to Bangalore’s top tournament.

The Prestige Golfshire Club, a jewel in Bangalore’s crown, is celebrating a decade of the Prestige Masters Series, India’s top amateur golf championship. Founded by Mr. Faiz Rezwan of the Prestige Group, this annual event has blossomed into a magnet for amateur golfers worldwide.

Each year, the tournament entices 840 competitors who partake in six qualifying rounds from May to October, climaxing in a grand finale in November. The next qualifying event is slated for Saturday, June 18, 2024, and aspirants can register by emailing salman@golfshire.com.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the tournament’s winner will be treated to a lavish travel experience—a trip to the 2025 Masters Tournament at Augusta National in Georgia, USA. This illustrious prize is courtesy of Golftripz in partnership with the Prestige Golfshire Club.

On a notable Saturday, May 18, despite capricious weather, the Prestige Golfshire Club witnessed 116 golfers vying for supremacy in the first qualifier of the series. Veer Puri clinched victory with 38 points, narrowly surpassing Vaibhav Gupta, while Sashi Kiran Shetty secured third with 37 points. These top performers, along with the other finalists from the top ten, have advanced to the series finale.

Declan McCollam, General Manager at Prestige Golfshire Club, said: “We are incredibly proud of how the Prestige Masters Series has grown over the past decade. Hosting the premier amateur tournament in Asia is befitting of the beautiful course here at the Prestige Golfshire Club, and we know that the experience for the golfers is second to none. The additional incentive of the trip to Augusta National for the 2025 Masters is no doubt a welcome one for our competitors, who will make memories that will last a lifetime.”

Set amidst a vast 275-acre estate, the Prestige Golfshire Club is a pinnacle of golf in Bangalore. Managed by Troon Golf and owned by the Prestige Group, the course extends over 7,000 yards from the championship tees and accommodates all skill levels with five tee options. Its links-style design and unique bunkers provide an exceptional and challenging golf experience, drawing visitors not just for the sport but for the serene travel destination it offers.

DJ Flanders, Executive Vice President at Troon International, commented: “The Prestige Masters Series represents the pinnacle of amateur golf in India, and we are proud to manage such an esteemed venue. The passion and dedication of the participants are truly inspiring, and we look forward to another decade of success and growth for this remarkable tournament.”
