'Elon who?' Delaware governor Matt Meyer trolls Musk after Space X exit

Delaware Governor Matt Meyer appeared flustered during a viral CNBC interview when asked to deliver a message to Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Instead of answering, Meyer hesitated and responded, “Elon who?”
“If Elon’s watching right now, what would you tell him?” asked CNBC host Andrew Sorkin. Meyer, looking puzzled, responded: “Elon who?”
Sorkin, seemingly taken aback, clarified, “Musk.”
Meyer then stumbled through a response, saying, “Elon Musk? Uh… please, please stop cutting our federal government with a chainsaw. Please preserve Medicaid.”
When informed that Musk had no plans to return to Delaware, Meyer responded vaguely, “Yeah, yeah… I, I don’t… E-Elon, yeah. He’s, he’s running his company. I don’t, I don’t know. I’m a… yeah. Right. I don’t have much to say on that.”
Musk severed ties with Delaware after a Delaware court voided his $55.8 billion Tesla pay package. Following the ruling, Musk moved his companies, including SpaceX and Neuralink, out of Delaware and encouraged others to do the same.
“SpaceX has moved its state of incorporation from Delaware to Texas! If your company is still incorporated in Delaware, I recommend moving to another state as soon as possible,” Musk had posted on X.
Despite Musk’s departure, Meyer downplayed concerns about Delaware losing its corporate appeal. He pointed out that Delaware remains the top destination for business incorporations.
“We have 2.2 million entities today from around the world registered in Delaware, the highest number we’ve ever had,” Meyer said. “Over two-thirds of Fortune 500 companies are incorporated in Delaware. The idea that we’re losing something is not totally accurate,” he said.
