Renowned DJ and composer Aqeel recently reflected on some of the most high-profile weddings he has performed at. He recalled the grandeur of celebrity sangeet ceremonies while speaking about performing at Bollywood’s biggest weddings, including those of Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, as well as Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Aqeel described all the celebrity wedding celebrations he attended as amazing and highlighted the stark contrast in their scale. According to him, Saif Ali Khan’s wedding with Kareena was very small, with only a few attendees present at the venue.

Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai’s wedding took place at their residence in Juhu, and the DJ described it as a ‘crazy party’. He found both weddings really enjoyable, as the couples are his close friends and he grew up with them. He felt comfortable since he already knew all the attendees and never felt like a stranger at their wedding celebrations. Moreover, they had all attended his wedding as well.
Apart from these, Aqeel has also performed at grand business tycoon weddings. One such occasion was the extravagant wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. “The baraat had 13 stages, and I was on one of them. It was great fun. It was like a non-stop four-and-a-half to five-hour marathon with all the artistes—you name them, they were there,” he said.
Aqeel has maintained a relatively low profile on social media. He revealed that he had to adhere to strict confidentiality regarding Anant and Radhika’s wedding celebrations due to a signed NDA (non-disclosure agreement). He explained that sharing anything on social media could have resulted in legal action against him.
