Bihar cabinet expansion: 7 new BJP faces inducted into Nitish government

NEW DELHI: Nitish Kumar led-NDA government on Wednesday expanded its cabinet ahead of the assembly elections scheduled in November this year.
Seven BJP MLAs including Sanjay Saraogi, Sunil Kumar, Jibesh Mishra, Motilal Prasad, Krishan Kumar Mantoo, Raju Kumar Singh and Vijay Kumar Mandal took oath as cabinet ministers.
“As a party worker and MLA, I have always been in the habit of fulfilling responsibilities. Though this role is new for me, the experience I have gained while working within the organisation will certainly help me. Whatever department I am assigned, I will carry out my duties with complete dedication,” Moti Lal Prasad said after taking oath.
Bihar governor Arif Mohammed Khan administered the oaths.
The expansion two comes days before the commencement of the Bihar Budget Session on Friday.
Earlier, revenue minister and BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal announced his resignation from his ministerial post, citing the party’s “One Person, One Post” policy.
“I am going to resign from the post of revenue minister. ‘One person, one post’ is the principle on which the party works. I am thankful that the central leadership has given me the responsibility of the party’s state unit,” Jaiswal said.
