Bhumi Pednekar REACTS to claims of being offered only 'wife' roles in films: 'They have never been the same girl'

Bhumi Pednekar recently opened up about claims of being offered only ‘wife’ roles in films. She also expressed her desire to do a heartland film.
In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Bhumi shared her perspective on playing the role of a wife in films, clarifying that it’s not just limited to commercial projects. She pointed out that Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Thank You For Coming represent two extremes, while her diverse roles in Badhaai Do, Sonchiriya, Saand Ki Aankh, and Pati Patni Aur Woh prove that none of her characters were similar, though they may have come from a similar social background.

Bhumi further emphasised that none of her characters have ever been the same. She has always adopted different dialects for her roles, showcasing her strong command over language. She doesn’t feel typecast and refuses to reject work out of fear of being boxed in. Grateful for the diverse opportunities she has had over the past decade, she takes pride in her journey and is eager to take on a heartland film.

Bhumi acknowledged that every actor and creative person faces scrutiny for their choices. She believes women, in particular, are questioned about every decision they make. However, she remains unaffected by opinions and focuses only on the audience’s response. Their love and acceptance are what truly matter to her.
Arjun Kapoor appreciated his co-star Bhumi Pednekar for her willingness to take risks in life. He believes that such choices should be celebrated rather than questioned.
