Bhumi Pednekar makes silly comment on 'Godh Bharai': 'Male member of the family does it...'

Bhumi Pednekar, who is currently promoting her film, ‘Mere Husband Ki Biwi‘, mistakenly confused the Kanyadaan ceremony with the Godh Bharai ritual in a recent interview.
While talking to Hesha Chimah from Varinder Chawla’s team, Bhumi was asked about a wedding ritual she found unnecessary. She first said she loved all rituals, and Arjun joked that she enjoyed attending them. However, Bhumi mistakenly said Godh Bharai was done only by men and wanted to change that. She later realized she had actually meant the Kanyadaan ritual.

Arjun Kapoor, sitting beside Bhumi, playfully teased her by calling her ‘Prableen Dhillon.’ Bhumi then clarified that while Kanyadaan is a beautiful ritual, it could be modified. When asked what would make her leave a relationship, she said mistreating others and being overly possessive were major red flags for her.

Bhumi further shared that she is completely happy with or without a man in her life. For her, comfort is key in a relationship—she wants to be herself and feel at ease with her partner. Unlike her character in Mere Husband Ki Biwi, Bhumi strongly believes in monogamy and wouldn’t tolerate a love triangle.
Earlier, in conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Bhumi shared her perspective on playing the role of a wife in films, clarifying that it’s not just limited to commercial projects. She pointed out that Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Thank You For Coming represent two extremes, while her diverse roles in Badhaai Do, Sonchiriya, Saand Ki Aankh, and Pati Patni Aur Woh prove that none of her characters were similar, though they may have come from a similar social background.
