Air India Express launches 'Freedom Sale': 5 million seats at discounted fares to mark 79th Independence Day; details here

Air India Express has announced a “Freedom Sale” offering five million discounted seats to mark India’s 79th Independence Day.According to the airline, bookings can be made through its website, mobile app, and major travel portals until 15 August 2025, for travel between 19 August 2025 and 31 March 2026. The sale period covers the festive season, including Onam, Durga Puja, Deepawali, and Christmas, ET reported.Domestic fares start at Rs 1,279, while international fares begin at Rs 4,279 under the “Xpress Lite” category, which excludes check-in baggage and is available only via the official website. Passengers who want check-in baggage can opt for “Xpress Value” fares starting at Rs 1,379 domestically and Rs 4,479 internationally.For premium travel, “Xpress Biz” offers larger seat pitch—up to 58 inches—and is now available on more than 40 newly added aircraft. The airline’s loyalty programme members will get “25% off Xpress Biz fares” and “20% off on additional baggage, hot meals, seat selection, priority services, and upgrades,” the carrier said, ET reported.Air India Express also continues concessional fares for students, senior citizens, and armed forces personnel. The airline currently operates a fleet of 116 aircraft, serving 38 domestic and 17 international destinations, including key India–Middle East routes.
