Harsh Gujral DELETES videos of YouTube comedy show ‘The Escape Room’ amid Samay Raina's India's Got Latent controversy

As the controversy surrounding Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on Samay Raina’s show India’s Got Latent continues to stir controversy, several comedians are now facing its repercussions.
Just days after Raina deleted all of India’s Got Latent episodes on his YouTube channel, comedian Harsh Gujral has also followed suit and deleted all videos of his comedy show The Escape Room from his YouTube handle.
Gujral, known for his dark humour and bold comedic style, released his comedy show in December 2024. The show aired just two episodes before they were seeingly taken down from his channel. The comedian’s decision follows Raina’s move to remove all his videos following a wave of FIRs, police complaints and social media uproar. According to reports, the Maharashtra Cyber Department took strict action, invoking relevant sections of the IT Act and demanding the removal of all 18 episodes of Raina’s show.
“My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly,” Raina shared in a statement via his Instagram Stories.
Podcaster and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia, who was also in the eye of the strom for his remarks on Raina’s show, on Tuesday, was granted protection from arrest by the Supreme Court. While condemning his remarks as “perverted” and “unacceptable”, the bench observed, “The words you have used will make daughters, sisters, parents, and even society feel ashamed.” The court restrained further FIRs against him and sought responses from the Centre, Maharashtra, and Assam governments on his plea to club and quash multiple cases filed against him.
Fellow comedians Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija have also been named in a case registered in Assam.
