'No point in saying such baseless things': Chirag Paswan on Tejashwi's SOS for Nitish's son to join politics

NEW DELHI: Union minister Chirag Paswan on Saturday criticised RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav over his call for Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar’s son Nishant Kumar to join politics “as soon as possible” for the sake of the future of the JD(U).
Paswan said that the decision to enter remains with Nishant.
“If he has so much information, then he should sit with the chief minister and tell what is going on and what is not. There is no point in saying such baseless things. This decision has to be taken by a particular person, he (Nishant Kumar) has to decide whether he wants to come into politics or not, if he has to come, then when and how, this decision has to be taken by Nishant Kumar,” Paswan said.
“If he comes into politics, we will definitely welcome him. But it does not suit him (Tejashwi Yadav) to say such misleading things,” he added.
This comes after the former deputy chief minister said that Nishant must join politics as soon as possible, otherwise, the BJP will finish the JD(U), the party that was formed by Sharad Yadav.
“He is our brother. I want him to join politics as soon as possible. Otherwise, the BJP will finish the JD(U), the party that was formed by Sharad Yadav,” Tejashwi said
“We joined politics not because our parents forced us but because that was the need for the people of Bihar and the party workers,” he added.
Earlier, Tejashwi claimed that “Sanghi elements” were hatching a “conspiracy” to thwart Nishant’s entry into politics.
“Nishant has been like family, notwithstanding political differences with his father who has been cutting a sorry figure of late. Of course, the party may be saved from extinction if he comes forward. Therefore, many in the BJP with help from Sanghis in the JD(U), are engaged in a conspiracy to prevent his entry,” Tejashwi had said.
Tejashwi’s brother, former Bihar minister Tej Pratap Yadav also asked Nishant to join the politics but not Nitish Kumar’s party. “Nishant Kumar should join RJD,” Tej Pratap said earlier.
Nishant Kumar has recently made headlines after he said the NDA should declare Nitish Kumar as the CM candidate and the upcoming election in the state, to be held later this year, should be fought under his leadership.
“I urge the people of Bihar to vote for Bihar CM Nitish Kumar as he has done a lot of development in the state. Last time, people gave 43 seats. They should ensure that we win more seats in the elections so that we can continue the pace of development,” Nishant Kumar said.
