Ananya Panday jokes about dad Chunky Pandey's 'questionable' style, reveals, 'We lock horns when picking scripts'

Ananya Panday and her father, Chunky Pandey, share a delightful and playful bond. They frequently discuss their fun dynamic in interviews and engage in lighthearted social media banter. Recently, Ananya humorously criticized her dad’s fashion sense, calling it “questionable.” Additionally, she revealed that they occasionally disagree when it comes to choosing movie scripts for her.
In an interview with Vogue India, Chunky mentioned that his daughter Ananya admires his fashion sense and often borrows his shirts. However, he noted that she doesn’t always agree with his movie choices for her. As reported in Pinkvilla, Ananya now humorously responded by saying, “Your choice of clothing is questionable, but I do borrow your clothes occasionally.”
Ananya explained that she and her father come from different generations and have different approaches as actors. Despite this, they bond over the films they watch together, enjoying commercial movies like ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ and ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’. However, they sometimes disagree on script choices. Ananya wants to explore her craft by taking on roles that are slightly off-center and more meaningful, which occasionally leads to disagreements with her father. She noted, “Sometimes we lock horns when picking scripts because I want to explore my craft as much as possible and do roles that are slightly off-center and more meaningful.”
On the work front, Ananya Panday is set to star in several exciting projects. One of her upcoming films is ‘Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh’, a historical drama based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire’ by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. She will share the screen with Akshay Kumar and R. Madhavan in this film, which is scheduled to release on April 18, 2025. Following this, Ananya will appear in the romantic movie ‘Chand Mera Dil’ where she will be paired opposite Lakshya.
