Poultry truck overturns on UP e-way, villagers scramble to grab chickens

A mad scramble for chickens ensued after a pickup truck transporting poultry from Amethi to Firozabad overturned in Kannauj on Lucknow-Agra Expressway on Saturday. Locals from nearby villages rushed to the scene to grab the chickens, leaving the injured driver and cleaner to fend for themselves. Onlookers captured the chaotic scene on camera, and the footage soon went viral, sparking debates about crowd behaviour and ethics. Order was restored only after police and UPEIDA officials arrived at the site, causing the locals to flee in panic. The driver and cleaner were later admitted to a Kannauj hospital. Officials have initiated action based on the viral clip. Additional SP Ajay Kumar said, “The driver fell asleep & lost control of the truck, causing it to hit the divider and overturn. We are in the process of identifying those who took the chickens. Strict action will be taken against them.”
