Vivek Agnihotri is gearing up for the release of The Delhi Files – The Bengal Chapter. The filmmaker recently clapped back at a troll who predicted his new film’s fate would mirror the disappointment of his previous movie, The Vaccine War.
On Tuesday, an X user predicted the failure of The Delhi Files and wrote, “Bhai teri Vaccine War ka kya hua tha? Wahi haal hoga iska bhi” (Bro, remember what happened to your Vaccine War? The same will happen to this too).
Vivek responded, “Wow! That’s great news because we made lots of money with it. We used that money to make The Delhi Files – Bengal Chapter. Love you, Suri the junkie.”
As soon as the filmmaker responded to the troll, fans couldn’t stop laughing. While one wrote, ‘Sir ji, aise thode hi karte hain Suri ke saath’, another one added, ‘Don’t get into these debates, sir… it will only distract you from your work. You made a valid point that as a more inclusive and puristic India we wish to build again, there is no place for any witch-hunting. But we also need to understand that this is how people react’. A fan also commented, ‘Wow, you gave Suri a good scolding…’

The Vaccine War is a docudrama by Vivek Agnihotri that tells the story of the development of Covaxin during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The film, based on a book by Prof. Balram Bhargava, features actors like Nana Patekar, Pallavi Joshi, and Anupam Kher. Despite a budget of Rs 10 crore, the film earned Rs 14.7 crore worldwide, marking it as a commercial failure.

Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film, The Delhi Files – The Bengal Chapter, explores the impact of political decisions from the 1940s on the Hindu genocide in Bengal. It stars Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi, and Govind Namdev, and is set to release on August 15, 2025. Directed by Agnihotri, it is produced by Abhishek Agarwal and Pallavi Joshi.
