Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa struggles in second weekend, earns just Rs 44 lakh

Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyappa continued its disappointing run at the box office, earning just Rs 44 lakh in its second weekend. According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 15 lakh on Friday and Saturday each, while Sunday saw a further drop with Rs 14 lakh. This takes its total collection to Rs 6.99 crore, its first week total was Rs 6.55 crore.

Despite a fresh pairing and a youthful love story, Loveyappa failed to click with audiences. The film opened to lukewarm numbers in its first week, and its second-weekend performance signals the end of its theatrical run. Trade analysts believe the lack of buzz and it being remake of 2018 film Love Today marred its chances at the box office.
Khushi Kapoor, who made her debut with The Archies, will next be seen in Nadanaiya, opposite Ibrahim Ali Khan- son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. The project has generated curiosity as it marks Ibrahim’s entry into Bollywood. Meanwhile, Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan who made his debut with OTT film Maharaj, will be seen alongside Sai Pallavi in his next film, which is expected to be a performance-heavy drama. This one is backed by Aamir Khan’s production house and is directed by Sunil Pandey. The film has been extensively shot in Japan and is made from an original script. It also marks Sai’s debut in Hindi films, she is also slated to be seen as Goddess Sita in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayan where Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Ram.
While Loveyapa may not have worked commercially, both Junaid and Khushi have promising projects ahead, giving them a chance to establish themselves in the industry.
