Yuzvendra Chahal-Dhanashree Verma are now officially divorced, cricketer's T-shirt with cryptic words goes viral
Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal

After speculations about trouble in cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma’s marriage, news of the duo heading for divorce was abuzz for quite some time now. And now, news is that Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma have been granted divorce by a family court in Mumbai today (March 20).
Yuzi and his estranged wife Dhanashree arrived at the Bandra Family Court around 12 noon for the hearing of their divorce case. As per reports, the Bombay High Court had directed the family court to speed up their divorce proceedings, as the cricketer isn’t available considering his commitments with Punjab Kings in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 starting March 22. Yuzvendra received INR 18 Crore to join Punjab Kings team, which makes him the most expensive spinner in IPL 2025.
Yuzvendra was the first to arrive at the family court, while Dhanashree arrived roughly an hour later. “Divorce has been done. The marriage is dissolved,” a lawyer said, as per reports.
Earlier rumours were rife that Dhanashree had demanded an alimony of INR 60 crores from Yuzvendra Chahal. However, Dhanashree had refuted the claims and had issued a statement against it. “We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be clear— no such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumours whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation,” her statement read.
Instead, reports suggest that Yuzvendra paid Dhanashree INR 4.35 crore as alimony for their divorce. Also, the Bombay High Court had ordered a Family Court in Bombay to hear Yuzi and Dhanashree’s divorce case on today, fast-tracking it by waiving the mandatory six-month cooling-off period.
