The incident took place early Monday morning when the family was asleep in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar, the police said.
Three people, including a woman and her two children, were charred to death in slumber after their house was gutted in fire early morning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kishtwar district, the police said on Monday.
The deceased persons were identified as Nazia Begum, her daughter Amina, and her son Rizwan, they added.
How did the incident take place?
The house, belonging to one Khursheed Ahmad in the Badhat-Jashar village of Drabshalla, caught fire at around 4.30 am today in which his wife and two children were trapped. They were asleep during the mishap and therefore could not escape in time.
The authorities are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire, however, have launched an investigation into the incident, the police said.
Meanwhile, a fire also damaged a Gujjar Bakerwal boys hostel in Chatroo in Kishtwar district late Sunday night in which no casualties were reported, they added.
