Despite posting a modest total, Mumbai Indians provided strong competition in this season’s first ‘El Clasico’ at CSK’s home ground. Former CSK player Deepak Chahar made an impressive debut for Mumbai Indians, scoring 28 runs from 15 balls with two fours and two sixes, while also claiming one wicket for 18 runs in two overs.

Chahar emerged as a standout performer for Mumbai Indians. Following the match, a playful moment between Chahar and his former captain MS Dhoni was captured during the post-match handshakes, where Dhoni was seen jokingly hitting Chahar with his bat.
MS Dhoni batted at number 8 for CSK but faced only two balls without scoring. He achieved a milestone by becoming the third player to participate in all 18 editions of the IPL.
CSK had retained MS Dhoni for Rs 4 crore before the IPL 2025 mega auctions. The five-time IPL-winning captain showcased his wicketkeeping skills by stumping MI captain Suryakumar Yadav during the first innings.
