The designer hosted a gala affair with the who’s who of the city at the door of his eponymous store. In attendance were Amrita Thakur, Anu Menda, Tania Khosla, Manoviraj Khosla and Manek Bahri and many more. The guests were welcomed by dancers and models, forming moving installations in an inimitable TT ‘India Modern’ flow. To add to the extravaganza, percussionists and dancers indulged in an animated jugalbandhi of harmony to Ma Faiza’s emotional and moving tracks that she had compèred for Tarun’s 25th-anniversary brand video.
Centred at the verdant central business district in a painstakingly restored heritage mansion– the Woodlands Mansion. The designer teamed up with Bengaluru’s preeminent doyenne of all things interior design– Vinita Chaitanya for the launch of the opulent atelier and imbue a sense of finesse to the store. The couturier’s new space aims to pay a tribute to Tarun Tahiliani’s signature ‘India Modern’ design philosophy, featuring original tiled floors, stone mosaics, handmade carpets and a ‘Tree of Life’ wall, featuring embroideries that represent the finesse of the ateliers’ style.
The atelier houses the brand’s full selection of couture, ready-to-wear, occasion-wear and more. Not just that, the space aims to offer an exorbitant experience for the customers to “sample the range and breadth of the collections, each in its own dedicated space, to be viewed by itself – drapes, the collections, the menswear room, the saribar, and the accessories room.” Launched on the 3rd of December, Tarun pulled off a spectacular sensory assault that featured a colossal LED screen streaming the brand’s ‘stream-of-consciousness’ video.
