
Debt-laden Vodafone Idea reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 6,608 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025, widening from Rs 6,426.7 crore a year earlier, as higher finance costs weighed on earnings.Revenue from operations rose about 5% to Rs 11,022.5 crore in the April–June period, compared with Rs 10,508.3 crore in the same quarter last year, the company said in an exchange filing on Thursday, PTI reported. The growth was driven by a 15% year-on-year increase in average revenue per user (ARPU), which improved to Rs 177 from Rs 154 in the June 2024 quarter.As of June 30, the telecom operator’s outstanding debt from banks, including interest accrued but not due, stood at Rs 1,944.5 crore. Its deferred payment obligation, including interest accrued but not due, towards spectrum and adjusted gross revenue totalled Rs 1,99,140.3 crore.The board has also approved the elevation of Chief Operating Officer Abhijit Kishore as Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Akshaya Moondra, whose three-year tenure ends on August 18. Kishore will take charge from August 19 for a term of three years.On Thursday, Vodafone Idea shares closed 2.99% lower at Rs 6.17.
