NEW DELHI: Virat Kohli vs Jasprit Bumrah – one of IPL’s most electrifying rivalries – delivered fireworks yet again at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday.
Making a comeback after a 93-day injury layoff, Bumrah returned with serious pace, clocking over 140 kmph in his opening over for Mumbai Indians against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. But Kohli wasted no time in asserting dominance.

Facing Bumrah for the first time in IPL 2025, Kohli launched the second ball of the fourth over over deep mid-wicket for a towering six – his first of the match and a powerful statement in their ongoing duel.
WATCH:
Despite the early blow, Bumrah kept it tight, conceding just 10 runs in the over with figures of 1 6 1 1 0 1.
Before the match, Bumrah had dismissed Kohli five times in 16 IPL innings, but Kohli’s aggressive strike rate of 147.36 against the pacer keeps the battle perfectly poised.
