According to him, Anushka shared that living in India made it difficult for them to enjoy their success due to constant media and public attention.
“I have a lot of respect (for Virat Kohli). We’ve met him multiple times; he’s just a decent human being,” Dr Nene said.

Do you think celebrity couples should move abroad for privacy?

“I’ll tell you something, and this is what you learn, they all put their pants on one leg at a time. We had a conversation with Anushka one day, and it was very interesting. They were thinking about moving to London because they can’t enjoy their success (here). And we appreciate what they go through, because anything they do attracts attention. We almost become isolated.”
The couple has chosen a more low-key life abroad, seeking normalcy and privacy for their family while maintaining their professional commitments in India.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli continues to shine on the cricket field. In IPL 2025, he recently broke the world record for most half-centuries at a single venue in T20 cricket, registering his 26th fifty at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
His 42-ball 70 helped Royal Challengers Bengaluru clinch a crucial win against Rajasthan Royals.
With this knock, Kohli also jumped to second place in the Orange Cap race and surpassed Chris Gayle’s tally for fifty-plus scores in T20s, showing that even as he balances a quieter personal life, his cricketing fire remains unstoppable.
