Vin Diesel hints at a possible Groot spinoff movie for Marvel fans

Actor Vin Diesel has hinted that a standalone movie based on Groot, the beloved tree-like character from Guardians of the Galaxy, might be in the works. In a recent Instagram post, Diesel shared updates on his upcoming projects and suggested that Disney is eager to explore Groot’s origins.
The Fast & Furious star mentioned that Disney is interested in developing “Planet X,” which is believed to be the home of Groot. Diesel playfully wrote that some people consider it to be “Marvel’s most anticipated movie.” Though no official confirmation has been made, fans are already excited about the possibility of seeing Groot’s home planet on the big screen.
Diesel has been the voice of Groot since the first Guardians of the Galaxy film in 2014 and has reprised the role in multiple Marvel movies, including ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ (2017), ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018), ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019), and ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ (2022). He also voiced Groot in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ (2023) and the Disney+ animated series I Am Groot, where he played Baby Groot.
In addition to the potential Groot film, Diesel is working on several other projects this year. He confirmed that he is involved in ‘Fast X: Part 2,’ a Rock’em Sock’em movie based on the Mattel toy, and new installments of xXx, Riddick, and ‘The Last Witch Hunter.’
Diesel also spoke about his continued efforts to bring the filming of Fast X: Part 2 back to Los Angeles. He shared that after the recent wildfires in LA, his co-star Jordana Brewster urged him to push for filming in the city to help boost the local economy. The actor recalled that Fast & Furious started in LA 25 years ago, and he expressed hope that the franchise would return to its roots.
With all these projects on his plate, fans are eagerly waiting to see if Diesel’s hints about a Groot spinoff turn into reality.
