Viineet Kumar Siingh reveals he lost Kartik Aaryan’s role in 'Lukka Chuppi' due to a misunderstanding: 'I realised they wanted...'

Viineet Kumar Siingh, who recently portrayed the role of Kavi Kalash in Laxman Utekar’s Chhaava alongside Vicky Kaushal, opened up about a missed opportunity that could have reshaped his career much earlier. He revealed how a simple misunderstanding cost him the lead role in Utekar’s 2019 hit ‘Lukka Chuppi‘.
In a conversation with Digital Commentary, Viineet shared that he was initially approached for the role eventually played by Kartik Aaryan. However, due to a mix-up, he misunderstood the intention behind receiving the script. He recalled the instance when a script written by a friend for a Laxman Utekar film was handed to him. Initially, he didn’t perceive it as an official pitch but rather assumed his friend was seeking feedback on the script.

The actor admitted that his delay in responding led the makers to assume he wasn’t interested. It was only later, during a conversation with Utekar, that he realised the role had actually been meant for him. “I took a little time for it, so they thought I was not interested. When I spoke to Laxman Utekar, I realised they wanted to offer me that film. I was so surprised. It was my bad luck that I thought it was solely for feedback, as I have many friends who are writers, and we often share our scripts for feedback,” he added.
Viineet spoke about how close relationships can sometimes lead to communication gaps. “The film was titled Lukka Chuppi. Earlier, it was titled Mathura Lives. I was offered Kartik Aaryan’s role,” he revealed.

Despite delivering a powerful performance in Mukkabaaz, Viineet confessed that the film’s success didn’t translate into the career boost he had hoped for. He admitted taking up roles just to pay rent after that.
However, Viineet’s performance in Chhaava received an overwhelmingly positive reception, and the actor expressed his gratitude through a heartfelt post on social media. “After Chhaava, I am positive that the audience who watched my earlier work and loved it too will not surprise me in person with this sweet question, ‘Sir, if you don’t mind… AAPKA NAAM KYA HAI?’” he wrote.
