NEW DELHI: Former Indian cricketer and commentator Aakash Chopra has slammed a fan for spreading fake content by manipulating his commentary and falsely linking it to the IPL 2025 match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 28 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
A fan edited Chopra’s commentary clip and attached it to visuals of MS Dhoni walking out to bat, misleading viewers into believing that Chopra’s words were meant for Dhoni’s arrival. However, the commentary was originally about a six Dhoni hit during the match.

Taking to social media, Chopra condemned the misleading video and urged fans to avoid such deceptive tactics.
Slamming the fan on ‘X’, Chopra wrote, “Six maarne ki commentary ko arrival visuals par chipka do…views/engagement badha lo. God bless you, Kushagra.”
His response highlighted the growing issue of misinformation in sports media and the need for authenticity in content sharing. The fake video is now not playable and a message on it read: ‘The media could not be played’.

Despite CSK’s 50-run loss to RCB, Dhoni entertained fans with 30 not out off 16 balls, smashing three fours and two sixes. The 43-year-old also became CSK’s all-time leading run-scorer in IPL history, surpassing Suresh Raina’s tally of 4,687 runs.
