There was a massive ruckus at a toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh’s Hapur district after a drunk bulldozer operator vandalised booths in a fit of rage when he was asked to pay the fee. A video of the incident, which took place at the Chhajarsi toll plaza in Pilkhuwa on Tuesday, has gone viral.

The police have arrested the operator while his JCB bulldozer was also seized. According to superintendent of police Abhishek Verma, the accused smashed through at least two booths and damaged CCTV cameras in the area.

The police said the incident took place around 8.30 am. The toll plaza employees were able to escape unhurt but kept recording the video from a distance as the bulldozer operator vandalised public property.

Verma said the bulldozer operator was drunk and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He said when the toll staff asked the accused to pay the fee to pass through, he got angry and started smashing the cabins with the ripper of the bulldozer.

The SP said after this, the driver fled from the spot with the bulldozer and also tried to hurt people. The police received a video through social media in which it was seen that the driver was vandalising the Pilkhuwa toll plaza and was trying to hurt the toll workers, he said.
