Tom Holland sets sail with Christopher Nolan in first pics from The Odyssey in Greece

The first set photos of Tom Holland as Telemachus in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic, ‘The Odyssey’, are finally here.
In a series of photos leaked from the sets, Holland, best known for his role as Spider-Man, is seen on a boat while shooting along the Greece coast. The actor, dressed in brown attire, plays the son of Matt Damon’s Odysseus.
The images reveal Nolan and his crew filming on an ancient boat in open water rather than using CGI or a green screen. Some extras and crew members dressed as soldiers, can be seen shooting for the scene with director Nolan himself seated in the boat, for the shoot.
‘The Odyssey,’ based on Homer’s legendary epic, chronicles the perilous ten-year journey of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca, as he struggles to return home after the Trojan War. Along the way, he encounters mythical obstacles, including the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the sorceress Circe.
The film boasts of an ensemble cast including Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong’o, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Benny Safdie, Samantha Morton, Jon Bernthal, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Jesse Garcia, Will Yun Lee, Mia Goth, and Corey Hawkins.
Nolan’s latest venture, after his Oscar-winning film ‘Oppenheimer’, is said to be made on a budget exceeding $200 million, thus making it his most expensive film to date. The film is reportedly being shot using cutting-edge IMAX film technology.
‘The Odyssey’ will mark the first time Homer’s iconic tale is brought to screens, with its worldwide theatrical release set for July 17, 2026.
