Uttar Pradesh’s first semiconductor park near Noida Airport promises to transform India’s tech landscape with massive investments and innovation

The first semiconductor park in Uttar Pradesh is going to be built near the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Three companies have been approved for this. The Uttar Pradesh government has approved the manufacture of semiconductors on 225 acres of land in Sector 10 and Sector 28.

Yamuna Development Authority Chief Executive Officer Arun Vir Singh told Local18 that 50 acres of land each has been given to Kaynes Semicon Private Limited and Vama Sundari Investments in Sector 10 to set up the semiconductor unit. Apart from this, 125 acres of land will be allotted to another company in Sector 28. The approval of these companies has now been sent to the central government.

The construction work will commence soon. The companies will be monitored from time to time. The companies which have been given the responsibility for the project will also be monitored.

Chief Executive Officer Arunvir Singh said that Vama Sundari Investment is preparing to set up a semiconductor conductor unit on 50 acres. A total of 13,780 people is expected to get employment from the plant. It will produce 2.40 lakh chips per month and will need 19 MW of electricity and 2,000 MLD of water.

Keynes Com Private Limited will also set its unit in 50 acres for which they will need MVA electricity. The third TURCK company will be given 125 acres of land by the Yamuna Development Authority. All the three companies have to invest Rs 40,000 to 80,000 crore in the three allocated areas.

Chief Executive Officer Arunvir Singh further said that semiconductors which are in the form of silicon chips are used in computers, cell phones, gas tests and vehicles. To increase the production of chips, a major change is expected in the automobile sector.

Due to the Russia and Ukraine war, India has to wait for longer durations owing to shortage of chips. It is believed that the construction of semiconductor units will help in meeting this shortage of essential chips. Singh said that this semiconductor park at Greater Noida will prove to be an important step towards self-reliance in the technology sector of the country.
