These days, even thieves have their favourites and display discerning taste even in criminal activities. A recent incident in Jaipur highlighted this trend, as thieves targeted a mobile store, making off with only specific brands of phones.
The incident occurred at a mobile store in Jaipur, where thieves broke in by dismantling the shop’s shutter. Once inside, they selectively stole only mobile phones of particular brands, leaving phones of other brands untouched.
These thieves had targeted only Apple and Samsung model mobile phones, as they were the most sought-after in the market. The perpetrators absconded with these phones worth crores of rupees. Despite the presence of CCTV cameras inside the shop, the thieves had masked up so that they could not be identified.
This sensational theft took place at a mobile showroom near Panchvati Circle in Jawahar Nagar. The targeted phone showroom, named Hot Spot, had received crores of rupees worth of new stock just two days before the theft took place. The shop owner discovered the break-in upon arrival at the store the following morning and immediately alerted the authorities.
The shopkeeper said that only Samsung and Apple phones were stolen from his store, The CCTV footage revealed that the thieves specifically targeted phones based on their brands, disregarding cheaper models. A dog squad was brought in to assist with the investigation. The police are currently analysing the CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the culprits.
