
Former India cricketer Venkatesh Prasad has made a scathing attack on Pakistan for “violating” the ceasefire agreement just hours after agreeing to end the military confrontation. The violation came despite a formal ceasefire agreement being jointly announced earlier in the day by both nations. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that the Directors-General of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both sides had agreed to cease all hostilities ā whether by land, air, or sea ā with immediate effect.External Affairs Minister Dr S.Jaishankar also confirmed the ceasefire. āIndia and Pakistan have worked out an understanding on the stoppage of firing and military action,ā he said. āIndia has consistently maintained a firm and uncompromising stance against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations ā and it will continue to do so.ā
