Tata Power Q4 results: Net profit rises 25% to Rs 1,306 crore

NEW DELHI: Tata Power on Wednesday reported a nearly 25% increase in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,306.09 crore for the March quarter of FY25, driven by strong performance across its key segments- generation, transmission, distribution, and renewables.The consolidated profit for the quarter ending March 31, 2024, stood at Rs 1,045.59 crore, as per regulatory filing.The January-March quarter saw total income increase to Rs 17,446.95 crore, compared to Rs 16,463.94 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.The Company’s board has put forward a recommendation for a final dividend of Rs 2.25 per equity share of rupee one each for the financial year ending March 2025.Shareholders will vote on the dividend proposal at the upcoming Annual General Meeting scheduled for July 4. The dividend will be paid starting July 7, 2025, if it is approved.The fiscal year 2024-25 witnessed consolidated net profit rise to Rs 4,775.37 crore from Rs 4,280.10 crore in the previous year. Total income for the fiscal increased to Rs 66,992.17 crore from Rs 63,272.32 crore.The company maintained positive growth for 22 consecutive quarters, achieving a Profit After Tax (PAT) of Rs 306 crore (25% YoY increase) and revenue of Rs 7,328 crore (7% increase).Q4 FY25 EBITDA increased by 14% to Rs 3,829 crore, reflecting strong core business performance. Core business PAT showed 52% (YoY) growth, reaching Rs 1,541 crore.The company attributed overall growth to increased power generation, full operation of module and cell lines in Tirunelveli, and significant advancement in nationwide solar rooftop installations, achieving 1.5 lakh installations.The distribution segment in Q4 FY25 showed remarkable growth with 73% YoY increase in PAT, primarily due to Odisha DISCOMs’ performance.Odisha DISCOMs’ PAT increased threefold to Rs 275 crore, benefiting from enhanced billing and collection efficiencies, and reduced ECL provisions. For the financial year ending March 2025, the company achieved its highest annual revenue of Rs 64,502 crore.During fiscal year 2025, Tata Power delivered more than 64.7 billion units of electricity to the power grid. Furthermore, the company’s distribution entities provided roughly 47 billion units of electricity to their customer base.
