SRH Retention List 2025: Full list of Sunrisers Hyderabad retentions before IPL 2025 mega auction

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have retained Heinrich Klaasen, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
SRH, who had reached the final of IPL 2024, stuck around with the core group that made them a force to reckon with last season. Klaasen became the top retention pick which put his value, as per the IPL rules, at Rs. 23 crore.

It was followed by captain Pat Cummins who had commanded a staggering Rs. 20.50 crore during the IPL mini auction in December 2023. This time Cummins has been retained for a fee of Rs. 18 crore.
Following Klaasen and Cummins are Head (Rs. 14 crore), Abhishek Sharma (Rs. 14 crore) and Reddy (Rs. 6 crore).

Head had an impressive season IPL 2024 season with SRH, scoring 567 runs at a strike rate of 191.55. He also performed well internationally, becoming the second T20 batter to score over 1000 runs at a strike rate above 175 and an average above 40 in a year.
Nitish Kumar Reddy, 21, who was valued at Rs. 20 lakh in 2023, has seen his value increase significantly to Rs. 6 crore. He was named the Emerging Player of the Year in IPL 2024, scoring 303 runs at a strike rate of 143 and taking three wickets.
Reddy was included in the India T20I squad for the series in Zimbabwe but missed out due to injury. He made his international debut in the home T20Is against Bangladesh in October. He is also part of India’s T20 squad for the ongoing Test series against New Zealand and will travel to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
By virtue of retaining five players, SRH have spent Rs. 75 crore of their available Rs. 120 crore purse for these players.
The IPL franchises had until the deadline of October 31 to submit their list of retained players. They could have retained up to six players, with a maximum of five capped internationals and two uncapped players. The IPL had set minimum deductions from the auction purse for each player retained, although franchises are at the liberty to choose to pay more.
