Sivakarthikeyan’s heartwarming gesture: How the 'Parasakthi' actor helped cricketer Sajeevan Sajana during Wayanad floods

Indian cricketer Sajeevan Sajana recently shared how actor Sivakarthikeyan, known for his generosity and kindness, extended his support during a difficult time in her life. In an interview with ESPN Cricinfo, she recalled how Sivakarthikeyan reached out to her when she lost her home and personal belongings in the 2018 Wayanad floods. Moved by her situation, the actor personally called her to check if she needed any help. Sajana, who had lost her cricket kit in the disaster, told him she only needed new spikes to continue playing.
True to his compassionate nature, Sivakarthikeyan ensured that Sajana received new spikes within a week. At that time, she was preparing for the Challenger Trophy, and despite the emotional toll of the flood, she found support from those around her. She mentioned how people inquired about her family’s well-being, which made her anxious, but their encouragement helped her stay strong. This gesture from Sivakarthikeyan left a lasting impression on her, showcasing his generosity and goodwill.
For those unfamiliar, Sajeevan Sajana had acted in ‘Kanaa,’ a sports drama produced by Sivakarthikeyan. The film starred Aishwarya Rajesh as Kousalya Murugesan, a young woman aspiring to become a cricketer, inspired by her father’s love for the sport. The movie depicted her struggles and perseverance in the male-dominated field of cricket. Sivakarthikeyan played the role of the team’s coach, while Sajana appeared as one of the team members alongside actors Sathyaraj, Darshan, Rama, and Ilavarasu in supporting roles.
On the work front, Sivakarthikeyan was last seen in ‘Amaran,’ which was directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, a biopic based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, a soldier martyred during an anti-terrorist operation. He is now set to reveal the title and first look of his upcoming film, tentatively titled ‘SKxARM,’ on February 17, 2025. Additionally, the actor is currently filming ‘Parasakthi,’ a period drama directed by Sudha Kongara, which also features Ravi Mohan, Sreeleela, and Atharvaa Murali in key roles.
