Shop 7 daring trends to take you into 2023—from outdoorsy bra tops to sheer dresses

With fashion’s return to the IRL runway shows, and the recent marathon of fashion weeks leaving us in a tizzy with an onslaught of new trends like sheer dresses and tops, leather looks and bold cuts to add to our future wardrobes, there is absolutely no dearth of fashion inspiration as we head into 2023. As fashion celebrates its resilience with its grand return of elaborate runway shows, designers are echoing this triumph in their designs. With a solid lean towards bolder styles and designs, the runways were graced with an underlying sense of rebellion. The daring trends that emerged out of this year’s runway shows are definitely several notches above the ones that have reigned supreme in the fashion landscape for the past few years.

Sheer dresses have now upgraded to a trend of exposed undergarments, while leather is having a head-to-toe moment. Fendi, ACNE Studios, and Saaksha Kinni rallied in sheer looks made from silk, organza, mesh, and tulle, while Versace, Jacquemus, and Givenchy brought back the 90s expired underwear trend. While it’s easy to deduce these trends are mainly fit for a runway and fashion it-girls like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid, there is a sure-shot way of incorporating these rebellious and outright daring trends into our wardrobes. Up ahead is a quick guide on which trends will be making their way into 2023 and how to boldly wear them as we usher in the “new year, new me” mindset.

Keeping it transparent

When Fendi debuted the sheer trend on the runway in February of 2022, the sheer trend caught on fire and ever since the runways are packed with see-through garments. Making them street-style friendly is an easy move with a little bit of layering.
