Sandeep Reddy Vanga reveals his plan to make a movie with 'no male lead' actors: 'Vo bhi pasand nahi aayega...'

Sandeep Reddy Vanga is known for his successful ventures, including ‘Arjun Reddy’ with Vijay Deverakonda, its Hindi remake ‘Kabir Singh’ with Shahid Kapoor, and’Animal’ with Ranbir Kapoor. His films have become a major talking point as they have never failed to make a strong impact at the box office.
However, while satisfying fans and followers, he has also stirred discussions about portraying violence and glorifying toxic masculinity in his works, as pointed out by certain sections of the audience and critics. Now, the filmmaker has opened up about making a film with no male stars.

‘Animal’ director Sandeep Reddy Vanga hits back at Kiran Rao’s stalking criticism

During a conversation with the YouTube channel Game Changers, the director reflected on his journey and the criticism surrounding his films. He was asked to choose between making a film without songs or one without a male lead.
Vanga revealed his inclination towards the latter, saying, “There is one idea where I want to make a film with no male lead actor.” When the host suggested that this decision might please those who have criticised his previous works, the director responded, “Vo bhi pasand nahi aayega unko, main likh ke deta hoon.” (They will not like that either. I can give it in writing.)

He further spoke about the possibility of making a film with no male lead, adding, “Maybe in the next 4-5 years, I will make it. You will also say it’s true, what he said five years ago.”
During the same conversation, Vanga was asked to choose between Ranbir Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. He ranked ‘Animal’ above ‘Kabir Singh’ and picked Ranbir over Shahid, showering praise on Ranbir for his great understanding of the filmmaking process.
