Sandeep Reddy Vanga reacts to discussions about Prabhas's 'Spirit' breaking 'Baahubali 2's box office records: 'I’ll definitely...'

Sandeep Reddy Vanga and Prabhas are teaming up for the much-anticipated movie ‘Spirit‘, which has already created significant buzz. Prabhas will reportedly portray a police officer in the film, and Sandeep is currently busy with the pre-production work for the movie.
Anyway, the filmmaker recently addressed comparisons between Spirit and Prabhas’s blockbuster ‘Baahubali 2’. In a recent interview with Komal Nahta, Sandeep was asked if he felt the pressure of surpassing the record-breaking success of ‘Baahubali 2’. He acknowledged the expectations surrounding the film but made it clear that he is not allowing them to dictate his approach.

An audience member also brought up an interesting observation—that Sandeep had delivered career-defining hits for Shahid Kapoor (Kabir Singh) and Ranbir Kapoor (Animal), and now, with Spirit, he is working with Prabhas. When asked if this adds to the pressure, the director responded, “This question is like a huge burden. I’ll have to hit Rs 2000 crore to beat Baahubali 2.”
At the same time, he assured that his focus is on delivering a captivating film. “I’ll definitely make a very engaging, interesting, and intriguing film. The rest, we’ll see later,” he added.

Sandeep also addressed the criticism he has received for his films giving importance to violence and toxic masculinity. He shared insights into the making process of Animal with Ranbir and how people appreciated the actor’s performance in violent scenes while disowning the director’s narration. He felt that industry insiders did not criticise Ranbir for the film because they might have wanted to collaborate with him in the future.
Sandeep is also working on ‘Animal Park’, the sequel to his recent blockbuster ‘Animal’.
