Salman Khan's black kurta-pyjama from Sikandar sparks Eid 2025 fashion frenzy in Old Delhi!

With just days to go before Sikandar hits theatres, Salman Khan has already set a major fashion trend. His black embroidered kurta-pyjama from the song Zohra Zabeen, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, has become the must-have outfit for Eid 2025. Even before the film’s release on March 30, markets are flooded with eager shoppers looking to recreate the Bollywood superstar’s signature festive look.

Salman’s Eid effect on fashion markets

The demand for the kurta-pyjama style popularised by Salman in Sikandar has skyrocketed, especially in Old Delhi’s bustling fashion hubs. Faheem, the owner of SM Collections in Chitli Qabar, reveals that similar designs have been flying off the shelves within days. The surge in popularity has led to a price hike, with the outfit now retailing at ₹2,800, nearly double the usual ₹1,000-1,500 range.

According to a PTI report, in Matia Mahal, another popular shopping district, shopkeeper Mohammad Salman shares that the embroidered fabric, widely known as “Pakistani embroidery” despite being produced in Surat, Gujarat, is also in high demand. The fabric, available in various colours and designs, is being sold for ₹1,000-1,500.

The Eid shopping rush and tailoring boom

As Eid approaches, traditional kurta-pyjamas dominate the markets, with many Muslim men opting for them to wear during the special namaz. The rising demand has left most tailors overwhelmed, with many closing their order books ahead of the festival. Naveed, a tailor from Jafrabad, explains that his team must finish all orders two days before Eid to allow them to celebrate as well.

Meanwhile, Raees Ahmed, a tailor from Maujpur’s Vijay Park, is still taking last-minute orders. To meet the soaring demand, he has hired seven additional artisans, each working up to 16 hours a day. “It takes about three hours to stitch a kurta-pyjama, and we’re racing against time,” he was quoted as saying by PTI.

Readymade market soars

With tailoring services stretched to the limit, readymade kurtas and pyjamas are selling rapidly. Altamash, a businessman operating both online and offline in Jafrabad, reports receiving over 120 online orders daily, with 60-65 pieces selling directly from his store.

Eid 2025: The black kurta reigns supreme

Salman Khan’s black embroidered kurta-pyjama has become the ultimate style statement for Eid 2025. Elegant, stylish, and Bollywood-approved, this festive attire is not just a tribute to Sikandar, but also a reflection of the lasting impact of cinema on fashion trends. Whether tailored or readymade, one thing is clear, Salman’s Eid look is here to stay.
