NEW DELHI: Former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth has finally spoken out after being handed a three-year suspension by the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA).
The ban came after he allegedly made false and defamatory comments against the KCA during a television panel discussion. The controversy centres around the omission of Sanju Samson from the Indian team for the upcoming Champions Trophy.

In a video message shared on his Instagram account, Sreesanth said, “You must have known that the Kerala Cricket Association has banned me for three years, at least that’s what they’re saying. I don’t know what I have done wrong. I only had good intentions for God’s own country and God’s own son, supported Sanju.”
Sreesanth, who is currently a co-owner of the Kollam Aeries team in the Kerala Cricket League, had spoken passionately on a Malayalam TV channel in support of Sanju Samson last February.
His comments, however, led the KCA to take action. A special General Body meeting held in Kochi on April 30 decided on the suspension.
While Sreesanth was issued a show-cause notice, so were the teams Kollam Aeries, Alappuzha Team Lead, and Alappuzha Ripples.

Do you agree with the KCA’s decision to suspend S Sreesanth for three years?

The franchises provided satisfactory explanations and avoided penalties, though the KCA warned that future appointments to team management should be made with more caution.
The KCA clarified that the suspension was not for backing Samson but for making misleading public statements about the association.

Additionally, the KCA announced plans to pursue compensation from Sanju Samson’s father, Samson Vishwanath, and two others for what they described as baseless allegations.
