RSS annual report flags violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, says restoring long-term peace in Manipur will take time

NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has strongly condemned violence against Hindus in Bangladesh while urging peace and unity in Maipur where it said that restoring long-term peace and trust would take time. These concerns were prominently featured in the RSS’s Annual Report 2024-25, under the section titled Present National Scene, which highlights ongoing human suffering due to violence.
“The barbaric attacks on the Hindu community and other minorities by religious fanatics during the political upheaval in Bangladesh are highly condemnable,” the report stated. It praised the resilience of Bangladesh’s Hindu community for standing firm despite threats to their safety and property.
The RSS acknowledged the efforts of its volunteers and various organizations in holding protests across India against the violence in Bangladesh. It also appreciated the Indian government’s diplomatic push urging Bangladesh to safeguard its minority communities and build global awareness on the issue.
On the situation in Manipur, the RSS appealed to all communities in the state to set aside grievances and work towards social harmony and brotherhood. The report noted that Manipur has been in turmoil for nearly 20 months, with Sangh-affiliated social organizations providing relief and engaging with communities to ease tensions.
The RSS acknowledged the Modi government’s role in addressing the crisis, stating that recent political and administrative decisions have raised hopes for improvement. However, it emphasized that restoring long-term peace and trust in Manipur would take time.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a recent podcast interview with AI researcher Lex Fridman, also reflected on the role of the RSS in shaping his life. “Through the RSS, I found a life of purpose and discipline,” PM Modi said, highlighting the organization’s work over the past century in uplifting tribals, women, laborers, and youth.
The report was released after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the three-day meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), Sangh’s top decision-making body in Bengaluru.
