Cricketer Rishabh Pant’s sister Sakshi Pant tied the knot with her long-time partner Ankit Choudhary, on March 12, 2025. The star-studded wedding was attended by popular cricketers, including MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Indian cricket team coach Gautam Gambhir, Nitish Rana, Shubhman Gill, among others. While the pre-wedding festivities, including Haldi and Mehendi, were held on March 11, Sakshi and Ankit got married the very next day in a traditional Hindu wedding. The beautiful bride, Sakshi Pant, wore a classic red lehenga, while the groom Ankit Choudhary wore an ivory Sherwani to complement her. Not just this, Sakshi also embraced her ‘Pahadi culture’ and dressed as a traditional Kumaoni bride on her big day!

In the wedding pictures, one can notice Rishabh Pant’s sister and bride Sakshi Pant wearing some traditional jewellery pieces which are typically worn by Kumaoni brides. These include: the Nathuli or the big nose ring, Ponchi or the traditional gold bangles on red cloth that are worn by married Uttarakhandi women, Mangtika or the hair accessory worn on the forehead, and Pichhoda which is a must for Kumaoni brides. The Pichoda is an important accessory of Kumaoni brides, which is worn by women on their wedding day and other religious functions. It is a traditional yellow or saffron colour, cotton stole with red polka dots; it is worn over a sari by married Kumaoni brides.
