Right after she was photographed wearing an ‘I’m retired’ slogan t-shirt while stepping out in NYC, Rihanna appeared in a maroon-red leather jacket and skirt set paired with a suite of ruby necklaces for the Fenty Hair launch event in LA. The singer has been expanding her beauty empire, and with the recent launch of her new haircare line, Fenty Hair, she’s been busy with its promotions and press events. Despite the frenzy of launching a new business venture, Rihanna rarely fails to impress with her style choices, and this time it was by wearing a special ruby choker made of 18-karat gold and encrusted with custom-cut diamonds by Bollywood‘s go-to costume designer Manish Malhotra.

This isn’t the singer’s first time wearing Indian jewels. During her viral performance at Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani’s pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, she wore a lace dress designed by The Attico. Her zari-embroidered pink silk coat by Dolce & Gabbana that she wore for the concert took inspiration from Indian embroidery and traditional design patterns. However, what truly stood out was her traditional diamond polki jewellery from Birdhichand Ghanshyamdas and Swadesh.
