Chennai Super Kings (CSK) all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has sent a reassuring message to fans following the team’s consecutive losses in IPL 2025, sharing a picture with MS Dhoni and promising better times ahead after their recent defeat to Rajasthan Royals, where CSK fell short by six runs.
CSK, the five-time IPL champions, started their campaign with a victory against Mumbai Indians but have since suffered defeats against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals.

Jadeja took to social media a day after the Rajasthan Royals match in Guwahati, posting a picture with Dhoni and wrote: “Things will change.”
In the match against Rajasthan Royals, CSK needed 39 runs from the final two overs. Jadeja and Dhoni managed to score 19 runs in the penultimate over bowled by Tushar Deshpande.

The final over required 20 runs, with Sandeep Sharma bowling. Despite a wide ball to start, Dhoni’s dismissal on the next delivery, caught by Shimron Hetmyer, ended CSK’s slim hopes.
Dhoni scored 16 runs from 11 balls, while Jadeja remained unbeaten on 32 off 22 deliveries.
Questions have been raised about Dhoni’s batting position, as he came in at No.7 against Rajasthan Royals and No.9 in the previous match against RCB.
CSK head coach Stephen Fleming explained the reasoning behind Dhoni’s batting position: “MS judges it. His body is, his knees aren’t what they used to be. And he’s moving okay, but there’s still an attrition aspect to it. He can’t bat 10 overs running full stick. So he will gauge on the day what he can give us. If the game’s in the balance like today, he will go a little bit earlier, and he backs other players when other opportunities are up. So he’s balancing that.”

Fleming further elaborated on Dhoni’s role: “I said it last year [as well], he’s too valuable to us – leadership and wicket-keeping – to throw him in nine, ten overs. He has actually never done that. So, look, from around 13-14 overs, he’s looking to go depending on who’s in.”
CSK currently occupy seventh position in the points table and will face Delhi Capitals in their next match on Saturday, April 5, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
